Clayton has been taking photos for many years and has a diverse range of experience photographing on location, at live events, and active subjects. Clayton began taking photos when quite young. Initially his favorite photographic subjects were wilderness activities and landscapes. Photos were used primarily in marketing of adventure tourism and in calendars. During the 90's Clayton's photographic activities were focused on developing a large land development, urban and aquatic habitat, and erosion and sediment control photo library. These photos were used in government and industry publications and in college and other lectures, seminars, presentations and course materials. A keen fan of live music Clayton has always taken photos for bands as a fun sideline.
With the increasing numbers and complexity of websites the demand for good photographers experienced in club, concert and promotional photography brought Clayton's photographic focus back into that scene. Now a regular photographer in the club and event scene in Vancouver, Clayton's photos are often seen in local magazines and on venue websites and nightlife scene websites. With a distinct slant towards events and people in some way connected to the music, nightlife and entertainment industries, Clayton is busy photographing events such as theme parties, fundraisers, community events and live performances as well as entertainers, individuals, venues and bands.
In addition to the years
of photography experience Clayton is artistic, articulate and trained in business
management. His experience, understanding and abilities in graphic design, editorship,
marketing and promotions allow him to work with, and photograph for, marketing
or design people as well as artists and entrepreneurs. Clayton often works with
website and graphic designers from concept development through to completion
of a project.
